Rental terms

Deliveries and/or collections between our stations are free of charge.
At Heraklion Port only, a small parking service fee of €3 applies and is paid directly to the port parking operator. No other delivery or collection fees apply

If the vehicle is returned at a different location than the one originally agreed, an additional fee may apply. Only a few locations, such as Chania Airport, are subject to a charge

For collections or deliveries out of the working hours (23:00-07:00), there is an extra charge to be applied, as an 'out of hours' service, rated as 30.00€ (VAT included). Please note, that the 'out of hours' service must be requested at the time of the reservation.

Ferry transport of the vehicle outside Crete is not permitted, as insurance coverage does not apply

According to the Greek Legislation, all National Driving Licenses issued by the following countries, are acceptable in Greece: 
Albania, Armenia, Austria, Azerbaijan, Bahamas, Bahrain, Belarus, Belgium, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Brazil, Bulgaria, Cabo Verde, Central African Republic, Chile, Costa Rica, Cote d’ Ivoire, Croatia, Cuba, Czech Republic, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Denmark, Ecuador, Estonia, Finland, France, Georgia, Germany, Ghana, Greece, Guyana, Holy See, Hungary, Indonesia, Iran (Islamic Republic of), Iraq, Israel, Italy, Kazakhstan, Kenya, Kuwait, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Liberia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Mexico, Monaco, Mongolia, Moldova, Montenegro, Morocco, Myanmar, Netherlands, Niger, Nigeria, North Macedonia, Norway, Pakistan, Peru, Philippines, Poland, Portugal, Qatar, Republic of Korea, Republic of Moldova, Romania, Russian Federation, San Marino, Saudi Arabia, Senegal, Serbia, Seychelles, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Tajikistan, Thailand, Tunisia, Turkey, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Uruguay, Uzbekistan, Venezuela (Bolivatian Republic of), Viet Nam, Zimbabwe.

Any Driving Licenses, issued by countries than are not mentioned above, are not acceptable in Greece, so an International Driving Permit (International Driving License) in the name of the driver to accompany the driving license, is required.

A valid driving license, passport or identity card, and a valid credit card in the name of the driver must be presented at the time of vehicle pickup. Please note that the renter’s name must be spelled identically on all documents.

The driving license of both the main driver and any additional driver(s) must have been issued at least one (1) year prior to the pickup date. Drivers must hold a driving license issued by the European Union or an International Driving Permit (IDP), which must be presented together with the original valid driving license.

As mentioned before, the driving license must be issued at least 12 months prior to pick up date. For driving licenses issued by countries outside the European Union must hold an International driving Permit with their valid driving license. Same for Americans, Canadians, as well as citizens of New Zealand and Australia.

The minimum age to rent a vehicle is 21 years.

The driver must hold a valid driving license for at least one (1) year.

The maximum age for rental is 79 years.

Please note that driver age is not verified at the time of booking. If the driver does not meet the age requirements at the time of vehicle pickup, the rental cannot be completed.

Any driver with a valid European Driving License or a valid International Driving Permit (accompanied with the valid driving license) as well as with compliance with all requirements, can be added as a second driver with an additional charge of 2€ per day (VAT is included). Same for the 2nd additional driver. Purchasing the Full Insurance as well as the additional fee for young drivers also applied for additional drivers.

The minimum rental period at KnossosRentals is two (3) days, calculated in 24-hour rental periods

Free cancellation is available at any time, for both prepaid and non-prepaid reservations, with no cancellation fees.

Any changes to a reservation are subject to vehicle availability and the applicable rates at the time of the changeg. While we always do our best to accommodate changes, we recommend contacting us as early as possible.

If changes increase the rental cost, the difference applies. If changes reduce the cost, no refund is issued. Early returns are non-refundable for unused days

The vehicle must be returned to the agreed location and time. Returns at a different location are available only with prior approval and may be subject to an additional fee

KnossosRentals operates with zero excess on all rentals. This means that no excess amount is required to be blocked or set aside on the renter’s credit or debit card. Provided that all rental terms and conditions are respected, the renter bears no financial liability for covered damages

Payment is made on arrival, at the time of vehicle pickup.

We accept cash and credit or debit cards.

Visa and Mastercard are accepted.

No deposit and no excess are required.

All prices include VAT and there are no hidden charges.

On our website there is the option to prepay the rental rate via a credit card that must be in the name of the driver and be presented on the pick up as well. If is a debit or another type of card, then the driver must also provide a personal credit card on the pick up, to be used as a guarantee, as mentioned before.

Vehicles must be returned with the same fuel level as at pickup.

There are no refueling charges if the vehicle is returned with the correct fuel level.

Vehicles delivered outside office hours are provided with at least half a tank of fuel.

Our staff will gladly direct you to the nearest fuel station if needed.

Baby Seats

Baby and child safety seats are available for all age groups according to weight, free of charge.

GPS Navigation System

A GPS navigation system is available for all car groups, upon request, with an additional charge of €7 per day (VAT included), payable locally.

Extras

All optional extras are provided upon request at the time of reservation and are subject to availability.

Full insurance with no excess means that if the rented vehicle is damaged, stolen, or involved in an incident during the rental period, you won’t pay anything out of pocket — no deductible, no excess, no hidden fees.

What it covers:

Theft Protection is free of charge for all car groups.

Τhe personal insurance of the driver in case of accident is provided and included in the rental rate.

Can also be purchased as an extra insurance and be paid on arrival, with a daily charge. 

Roadside Assistance and Accident care are provided and included in the rental rate.

Third Party Liability is included in the rental rate.
